"Disaster Risk Reduction:  Innovative sustainable solutions through interactive education"

The project addresses the horizontal priorities: Open education and innovative practices in a digital era and Supporting individuals in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competencies and one specific priority: Tackling skills gaps and mismatches.

Save the world

 The project will integrate the knowledge of three organizations from Greece, Bulgaria, and England in order to build an online platform for education in Disaster Risk Reduction.

Main objectives of our project:

  • To develop and implement open education and innovative practices in disaster risk reduction training solutions by integrating open educational resources into the teaching curriculum and to increase the quality of teaching and learning; to encourage the students to have a more active role in the learning process and to raise the awareness of other stakeholders about the disaster risk management.
  • To support individuals in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competencies in disaster risk reduction by expanding the knowledge, skills, and competencies in disaster risk management and disaster risk reduction of the participating organizations in order to provide positive sustainable effects on society and to increase the awareness about the disaster risk reduction among students, providing them a career path, among experts in the field, among other stakeholders, representing regional, national and international authorities and the whole society.
  • To tackle skills gaps and mismatches in disaster risk reduction education by equipping the experts with practical skills and tools for disaster risk reduction learning and providing them via a wide range of teaching ideas and new, modern pedagogical instruments concerning the introduction of ITC in the learning process; by creating a network and by strengthening the professional development and empowering the quality of the training offered in the field of disaster risk reduction.
